Earthcycle packaging products are made from palm fiber, a waste product of palm fruit oil production and a renewable resource. According to Earthcycle, the fiber is mixed with food-grade additives that increase its water and oil repellency. Earthcycle states that the packaging is made from a renewable resource, non-genetically modified and biodegradable in a backyard, community, or industrial compost and takes 90 days to be decomposed into humus. Earthcycle packaging is certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute.
